One on One options are available for any age.  Your lesson will be focused on whatever it is you most want to learn. This is a great option if you are looking for help with a specific project, focused learning time, or you just appreciate a quieter learning space!

I will provide all of the materials and a sewing machine if needed. There may be a fabric charge for projects requiring specialized fabrics or larger quantities.

Lessons can be held in your own home or in a meeting space.  Lesson dates/times are flexible.

Please be sure to include your email and/or phone number with your order so I can contact you to work out the details of your lesson!

While machine operation lessons can be included in any private lessons, I also offer specific classes to help you understand and safely operate your machine. Having a broken or jammed machine can be so frustrating and can happen very easily when learning as a beginner. These classes will leave you feeling more confident about operating your machine and will help avoid costly machine repair bills.

The sewing machine basics class will cover threading, needle replacement, basic straight and zig zag stitches, bobbin winding and install, reverse stitching, and common errors to avoid. This class is 90minutes and is open to all ages.

In the sewing machine extras class, we will learn about additional features on your machine above and beyond the basics such as decorative stitches, button holes, zipper foot, and the different needles and stitches you need for different types of fabrics. It is recommended that you are confident in the skills learned from the sewing machine basics class prior to taking this class. This class is 90 minutes.

In the serger operation class, we will learn about threading and adjusting tension on your serger. We will also review differential feed if your machine has that option. We will practice sewing confidently on your serger with various fabric types. This class is 90 minutes.

*If sewing is new to you, I do not recommend starting with a serger. This class is best suited for you if you feel relatively confident on a basic sewing machine first.
